  1. Such a fun celebration episode! Happy birthday, CY365!

I have a quick question about your discussion of watermarking/copyrighting photos. I still feel like a pretty big novice in Lightroom, so please forgive me if this question is silly…. I know how to add a copyright to my photos in Lightroom (and I do), but doesn’t that mean that anyone could pull anyone else’s photos into their Lightroom and change the copyright to whatever they want?

As for the watermark issue (I found your discussion to be really interesting!): I just watermark the photos that I post on my (craft/garden/etc.) blog. I do this because I want the “branding”– but I have also had my projects linked from other sites — and they’ve cropped off my watermark (while still, strangely enough, giving me credit…). So I understand that watermarks are pretty ineffective…. But still, I do like the idea of watermarking when I want to have credit (or a traceback) for a project that might show up elsewhere (like on Pinterest, with so many bad links).

  2. Yay! A new podcast! Thank you so much! 🙂 I couldn’t join the party, but loved listening in. Happy birthday!

  3. Wow, I’ve just discovered that you picked my solitude picture as one of your favourites from the Gallery. Thank you so much, I’m chuffed! I have been trying to learn to take pictures for a couple of years now – just of my family and my three boys – but it’s a ‘two steps forward one steps back’ experience and I’ve never been brave enough to show my pictures to anyone! Then I found your site at the beginning of the year and decided I would try and do your 365 challenge (just aiming at taking 15 pictures out of the list every month), but with no intention of sharing my pictures in your gallery! But you seemed such a supportive and friendly group I eventually plucked up the courage to start uploading my attempts and have found the comments really helpful and encouraging. I’ve learnt so much already. And this is the icing on the cake. Thank you. And thanks for reminding me in your pod casts and daily updates to worry less about the technical bits and bobs (which I invariable get wrong!) and just capture the moment that is so fleeting and precious!
