May 365 {A Vision of} Photo Challenge List | 2014

Capture Your 365 Photo Challenge List

Photography takes vision, the ability to see your subject as it will look through your lens. It takes vision to see light and shapes and motion and color.

Imagine creating a photo without the vision your eyes provide? It’s not something most of us want to consider.

This month we are teaming with The National Eye Institute for Healthy Vision Month to bring focus to the importance of caring for our vision so that we can continue to create our vision!

May is Healthy Vision Month

This month you’ll see #avisionof as a theme for our prompts. We’ll look at the eyeball (of course) and we’ll look at the things we love, things that inspire our photographic vision.

I want to see your photos in the #CY365 group on Instagram. Tag them with #hvm2014 to show your support for Healthy Vision!

And because May is just a pretty amazing month around here, we are going to add some more fun the week of May 12th through 18th for National Women’s Health Week.

Yep, we are getting healthy in May. We’ll be focusing our lenses on things we can do for OURSELVES! Yes. Not always so easy when we are juggling life’s challenges. We’ll turn our thoughts and our lenses towards activities that keep us healthy so we can continue to make (and photograph) our  memories!

365 Photo Idea List

I’m excited about focusing on Vision this month. I hope you are too!

How can you use the list? Follow three quick steps!

Download the May Challenge List to your favorite device or print it for quick reference. I post mine right next to my desk and carry it on my phone.

Go sequential if that’s your thing or pick one that inspires you. Go out on your own if you need to. There is no wrong way to use the prompts!

And really…if you need to skip a prompt…then skip it! It’s your project. Make it your own!

And here are this month’s repeating prompts (the green words). Not sure what a repeating prompt is? Each month we focus on the same subject in a different way. We talk about them on the CY365 Podcast.

  • Create A Self Portrait  | May 3 – A Vision of My Eyes
  • Create A Macro Photo | May 5– A Vision of Small Details

    Hi Katrina,
I haven’t received the email for the past 2 or 3 days. Do I need to re-sign up for the email? Thank you

    • No need to sign up again. Check your spam, make sure I’m on your safe sender list, and if it those don’t work check with you internet service provider. AOL likes to block the daily emails.

  2. Rhadonda

When I click on the Instagram icon it takes me to your page, is that the same as 365? If not how do I connect to the 365 page? Thanks for your patience.

    • Hi Rhadonda, that links takes you to my Instagram account. That’s the spot where I share my photos. You can see everyone else’s photos by clicking on the #cy365 hashtag in the Instagram app.

Thanks!! I have been checking all night for the new list! and it is finally here. I have printed and saved it as pdf too. I’m ready! I’m getting better about getting a photo everyday (well, missing one – maybe 2). I post the photos in an online album and a few friends really watch for the daily photos. Some photos are much better than some but I have fun! Thanks for the new list.

    • So glad you are enjoying the list and LOVE that you are sharing with your friends. Daily photos are a bit like life, some days will be good and some won’t!
