June CY365 Photo Challenge List | 2017

June arrives and marks the change of seasons and the halfway point of many of your 365 projects. Halfway. That’s a really big deal. Your intentional daily practice makes YOU a better photographer. It’s scientifically proven. It’s all about moving forward despite the constraints life presents.

This month I’m stepping in for Britanee with the monthly post because I have a request. A simple request I believe.

I started taking a photo a day in February of 2008. My project has changed forms over the years, but the one thing that has weathered the years is ONE PHOTO each and every day. They are not always good, but I remind myself this project is about the process and the practice, not perfection. I’m probably a better photographer today than I was in 2008.

This month I’m going to knowingly miss my first day of 365. On June 20th I am scheduled to have open heart surgery. I’ll take my photo that day. It will be the last thing I do before I hand my phone over to my husband. On June 21st, the first day of summer (or winter for some of you), I won’t take my photo. I know this now. I know that I’ll be in ICU, sedated as I begin the recovery process. I’m ready for surgery. I’m ready to have the issue in my heart corrected. You can read more of that story here.

But back to you.

You’ll notice on June 21st the prompt is WITH A HEART. YOU have all been such a huge part of my life, sharing your projects, your passion, and your lives with me through your daily photos. On June 21st I’d love for you to keep my project going by taking a photo for me! Follow the prompt any way you want. Share it in our Member’s Facebook Group or on Instagram. Tag it with #withaheart4cy365 so I can see all of your beautiful work.

I cannot wait to see what you create.

And as always, thank you for being HERE and thank you for capturing YOUR 365. Enjoy this month’s list.

I hope you find comfort in the fact that so many people love and care about you – many like myself whom you’ve never even met! – and we will all be pulling for you. I’m looking forward to seeing your images resurface on the other side of your surgery. Hugs to you!
