  1. Thanks in support of sharing such a pleasant opinion, article is pleasant, thats why i have read it completely

  2. Julie S

Hello! I thought I saw information for alumni of this class being eligible for a discount but now I’m not seeing it. Is this the case and if so, what do I need to do? Thanks much!

    • Hi Julie,
It should already show up in your classroom! No need to do anything at all. Your first class email will arrive on Monday!

  3. Marge Johnston

    Hi Katrina,
Do you have the 2016 dates for Exposure yet?
Also, where does one find the ebooks – I think on the podcast they were called “Practice”?
    Thanks so much!

  4. Will this class be offered again in 2015?

  5. Nanci Hendrickson

It would be very helpful to me to see the full schedule for the fall class as I am out of town a bit in October. I cannot seem to find it anywhere on your website. Please advise.

    • Hi Nanci,
The lessons post each Monday beginning October 6th. The week of October October 27th. The live webinars are scheduled for November 6th and 20th. Both of the webinars will be recorded and posted in the classroom area for those who are unable to attend.

Let me know if you have other questions 🙂

  6. One more question for you, I only have a 35mm lens for my camera, do you require certain lenses for this class?

    • No particular lens is required for class Tina! You’ll be just fine with the 35mm.

      • Ok I’m going to take this class, I’m excited and at the same time very nervous. I sure hope that I’ll have the proper time to dedicate to this class. Summer would have been a bit easier and more relaxed regarding my schedule. I worry about the daylight being shorter which will limit my photo ops but I’ve been wanting to take a class from you, so here goes. I am giving myself a large learning curve, sooooo if I only learn one or two things than it will be a success lol. I’m at work now so I will try to register on my lunch break. VERY EXCITED….. I’m going to do this! I finally decided to take the plunge. Please note that I am a beginner, I do shoot mostly in manual but not good at it, focus is a struggle for me and I’ve never taken an online class.

  7. Omg this is just what I need, I’m traveling aboard from Nov 5-15 will this have an impact on the class?

    • Hi there Tina!
There will be a lesson right before you go and just after, but you’ll have access to them after class is over if you need them. All of the webinar are recorded, so you’ll be able to grab the videos when you are ready to watch them!

  8. I am very interested in your class but work out of town on the weekends with very little free time when I am gone, I am concerned that I would miss maybe a webinar if it occurs when I am out of town working. Do you think this would be an issue for me if I took the class?

    • Hi Anna!
The lessons are available after class and all of the webinars are recorded for those who can’t attend live! I think you’ll be fine 🙂

  9. Hey Katrina, I found info on your classes tonight & am extremely interested. I’m curious though as to which class u would recommend I begin with. I have had a special love for photography for years. As a naturally artistic person, I have a pretty good eye 4 photography…composition per say & am pretty good w photoshop elements. I have been working as a contracted newborn photographer for 3 years but since we only shoot in shutter priority it has not taught me a lot. I have quit that company now & want to develop myself. I have taken one online course that was helpful but I still have a lot to learn & I need to find confidence in shooting in manual. Which course would you recommend I start with? And if this one…can I join next week when I am better able to pay the fee & will the fee still be the promotional fee? I need to learn as much as i can, as quickly as i can. Im shooting my 1st wedding in the fall. Feel free to look at my website if you would like. I have a Nikon D5100 with the two package lenses & a Nikon SL 700 flash. (However, if u look at my website…Most of the Historic Savh photography was done with a point & shoot!) I’ve had my Nikon for a little over a year. I look forward to learn from you. -gh

    • Hi Gini!

If you understand the exposure triangle and how the three elements work, this class will be awesome for you. I’m closing registration next Monday, so you’ve got a little time!

  10. Mildred

I am interested to take your class;but i don’t know how it works. I live in the northeast. I usually work from 09:30A to 8:00P and i have an hour &1/2 commute to home. Please enlighten me. Thanks!

    • Hi Mildred,
The lessons post online once each week. You can download the lesson and the video once it’s available. The two live events are broadcast online and recorded for those who can’t view them live online.

It’s flexible and adaptable to your schedule!

  11. Rhadonda

As usual i am cutting it close to the deadline. I have paid for but not started your other two classes, Practice and the 365 one, I know major fail, job overwork right now. I really want to have this one but i wondered would it be offered later this year so in the meantime i can get working on the other two classes. Otherwise it is not self-paced so i couldn’t buy it and work it later correct?

    • It may be offered later this year Rhadonda. Most likely late in the year.

      • Rhadonda

Thanks! I will hold out and hope for later in the year ( : Until then i will CY365!! And try to get started on the other classes.

  12. Hi Katrina,
I took this class back at Debbie Hodge’s website a few years back & am thinking of taking a ‘refresher’. Have you changed much since then do you think, or is it much the same class? Even if the answer is that you haven’t, I’m thinking the class interaction will be beneficial plus I understand a lot more about my camera now, but am just curious.

    • We have added and edited a little bit to the content since the original offering at Debbie’s site. We’ve also added two live webinars — one a quiz show that people LOVE and the other a photo discussion.

It would be great to have you in class again!

  13. I am interested in this class, but I want to make sure I have no conflicts with the live events. Can you please let me know the dates and time these will occur?

    • They are tentatively scheduled for June 5th and June 23rd at 6PM. I will poll the class once we begin and adjust if needed.

The webinars are recorded so you can watch after if you are unable to attend the live event.

  14. Hi Katrina, Thinking seriously of taking this class. Just wondering if the live webinar will be available for viewing after the scheduled date. Depending on the day of the week, 9:00 EST might be too late for this East coast resident. Love your blog and podcast! Thanks for all you do! Cyndi

  15. I just heard about this class from listening to podcast episode 6. When will it be offered again? Or is it something I can sign up for now and go at my own pace?

    • Hi Aubree,
We just finished this offering, so the next won’t be available until the late summer. It’s not offered self paced at this time.

If you are on the newsletter list, you’ll be among the first to hear about our next offering.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  16. I was wondering if this class would be enlightening for an advanced photographer? I feel that constant learning in photography is very impotant. I have used your 365 to keep me insprired when I have down time in my photo business. Thank you for all your sharing.

  17. Is it too late to register on Jan 6? Having internet issues and I would like to join.

  18. I did the last class and was wondering how different this class will be? Is it a repeat of last years?

  19. What time of the day is this class? I work during the day and I was wondering if you were running it in the evening at all?

    • Hi Brenda,
This class is online. The lessons and videos are made available each week over 7 weeks. The live webinar is typically held at 6PM Pacific.

  20. Hi Katrina,
I stumbled upon your website and have started in your CY365 project as a way to improve my photography. I have a canon eos rebel xsi with two lenses. I have no other equipment except a tripod. Will I need anything else to take this course on exposure.

  21. Hi Katrina,

I’d like to give this class to my daughter as a birthday gift. She just got a dslr for Christmas. Is there a way that I could pay for the class and give it to her?

    • Absolutely Penny. Register with the button on this page. After you put payment info in you’ll be taken to a page to set up a username and password. You can create that for your daughter. She will then receive confirmation emails for class.

If you want it to be surprise for her, send me an email katrina@katrinakennedy.com and we’ll get you all set up!

  22. Jean Funnell

HI Katrina, I have taken your class “Your Life Through the Lens” How different is this class, is it more in-depth?

    • Hi Jean,
This class is much more in depth. There is more technical information shared about metering and metering in different situations. It will help you really understand what is happening as you shoot in manual.

Let me know if you have other questions.

      • Jean Funnell

Will this class be offered again? I’m not quite ready to be involved right now ‘though I need this class. Thank you Katrina for all your helpful information through the CY365 list.

  23. Katrina, is this the right class to take as a beginner? I have a DSLR, but I am stuck on Auto mode. If not, which class should I wait for?

  24. Heather Smithson

You indicate a DSLR is needed, but I’m guessing a mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses is fine too, just not point and shoots, right? I have a Sony NEX.

  25. Annette Dorval

How do I sign up? Sounds great!

  26. Hi Katrina,
when does this class start in 2014,
    what’s the price,
and finally, I take my pics with a bridge camera, I cannot change lenses. Would this be a problem?
Thank you so much for teaching in a unique way!

    • January 6th!

A bridge camera should work for you. As long as you have manual mode and can control your aperture, shutter speed, and ISO class will work for you!

  27. Suzanne

I wish I could join this session but I am having issues with my PayPal account which I was using just as of yesterday. Not sure when they will fix my issue. I send in a request… so frustrating. Suzanne

  28. Danna Campbell

I really want to take this class but I’m going to be out of the country the first week – is this something I can catch up on as I go along or will I miss something crucial? I get back in town on Sunday the 12th and can play catch up . . . just wondering. Guidance is needed. THANKS

    • Hi Danna,

You can totally catch up that first weekend. The first lesson reviews the exposure triangle so that everyone has the same language and perspective before we dive into the info a little deeper. It will still be there when you return. People will work through the material at many different paces.

Let me know if you have other questions.
