31 December Daily Photo Ideas | Project 365

I love the holidays. I love capturing photos of every little detail and event. Collecting  memories  has become a family tradition.

I love Ali Edward’s December Daily approach.  I’ve completed three years with her guidance and products. Each year I start with great intention. 2008 I finished just days into the New Year.

I’ll admit a little something though, I didn’t finish 2009 until 2010 and 2010 is just about done as I type.

I love the idea of collecting everything into one spot so we can relive the year. I love comparing this year to last to see how Ian has grown and how we’ve kept family tradition going while creating new ones.

December Daily, Project Life, 365, Focus 52, or whatever project you are completing isn’t about the project or the product. It is about your memories. It is about your life.

It is about finding those most special moments, photographing them, and placing them somewhere for safe keeping.

Each year I’m reminded more and more of how important it is to get things written down, whether it is digital or paper. Each year our activities seem to multiply, our days get busier, and my memory a little more sparse.

Enjoy my December prompts. Sign up here to receive the daily prompt via email. They are great reminders to take a photo. Each email includes a few ideas for the prompt and links to techniques and inspiration!

Your book is beautiful, by the way!! I’m sure mine won’t be nearly as organized!! :)

  2. I’m going to try to get a daily photo in December, thanks for the ideas! I take pictures most days anyway, but I want to try to get at least one that I *like* every day in December, so I can put them in a holiday album afterward.

  3. Thanks for the list! It is always nice to have something to prompt photos!

Great book! Did you use a template or design your own album? I recognized the handwriting and some of the quotes as Ali’s so I thought maybe this was a design of hers. Thanks! I find you both most inspiring. In fact, it was your post regarding December Daily that finally convinced me to give it a try. I assembled my album today and am so excited for tomorrow. I’d love to have a digital form as well and your book is truly wonderful!!

  7. I love love love love love your December Daily pages. I was a fan way back when you posted them in DD gallery. I’ve never attempted December Daily and don’t plan on it this year but I can’t wait to see yours.

  9. I would love to attempt a December Daily but I have no children at home and feel the photos/book would be a bit boring. I do love looking at all of your photos each year. I wish that did something like this when my kids were little. The books are full of wonderful memories.

    • I’ve been thinking about your comment a lot. I think a book documenting your memories of past Christmases with photos of your current Christmas would be amazing. Imagine all the memories you could gather!

  10. I love your book! Your photos are gorgeous and so much journaling. Inspiration is hitting me again. Thanks so much for sharing; it helps keep me on the memory-keeping path.

  11. I am SO jealous. You beat me. I have a few pages left for last year ….. I need a good kick in the pants!

  12. I’m linking up to this page in my Dec Daily resources – thanks so much for the constant inspiration you provide!
