December 365 Photo Challenge List

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go!

December CY365 Photo Challenge List

I love this time of year. It’s full of color and lights and some of my favorite things to photograph. There is no shortage of great subjects this December from light bokeh, the color red, to the family and friends you share this season with.

I’m looking forward to visiting Santa Claus with my son and opening our house for our annual Holiday Party. We look forward to it all year long. I’ll be using both my phone and my dSLR all month long. And this month I am vowing to get my photos off my computer.

This month there are so many fun ways to bring your photos together into a beautiful keepsake. The December 365 list works beautifully if you are doing Ali Edwards’ December Daily™ , joining me at ScrapOrchard for Capture Your December, or just doing your own thing this month.

If you are new to CaptureYour365, December is a great month to practice for the challenge of taking a photo a day in 2014. Start with 31 days of December and just keep going!

There is still time to join us for Your Holidays Captured Through The lens, my 3 week class to help you create photographs you will love of your holidays. Register here.

Have a very Merry Christmas all month long! I look forward to seeing your photos this month and ringing in the New Year too!

How can you use the list? Follow three quick steps!

Download the December Challenge List to your favorite device or print it for quick reference. I post mine right next to my desk.

Subscribe to the free daily emails for a prompt reminder and tips for each day’s prompts.

Go sequential if that’s your thing or pick one that inspires you. Go out on your own if you need to. There is no wrong way to use the prompts!

And really…if you need to skip a prompt…then skip it! It’s your project. Make it your own!

This month’s repeating prompts are:

December  7 – Technical (bokeh)

December 14 – Self Portrait

December  21 – Color (red)

December 28 – A Portrait of a Person

Create your image with whatever camera you have! Phone, dSLR, point and shoot.

Shoot what you can. Share what you can. No pressure.  Sharing helps keep you motivated all year long.

You can:

You’ve got options!

In the comments below, share which prompt you are looking forward to most!

Looking forward to all of them . . . hoping that I have time to really think about what I shoot! I think that I will love the Holiday Bokeh lesson . . . when I get bokeh now, it is usually an accident!!!

Decorating – I have not decorated in ten years and Christmas seems like just another day. This year I plan on ending the year with joy and color. Then I plan to take the new year on, taking pictures and journaling about the amazing world around me.

  7. Jennifer Matthews

All of them, I love the holidays !!!!

  8. Connected – hoping to be able to get together with some friends we have not seen in a couple of years. Taking a picture of all of us together is one of my biggest Christmas wishes this year.
