I am so so excite about your podcast! Loved the first one and can’t wait to hear the next two….
Thanks so much for doing this yay!

I love this podcast, I am adding it to my list!

When you were talking about tomatoes it made me think of one of my daughters “fun” senior pictures. We did a spoof on The Real Housewives of Orange County” and the ladies holding an orange. Tricia and her friend worked at Fazlolies a fast food Italian Restaurant. We have a picture of the girls in their work clothes holding a tomato. The Poster says “The Real Teen-agers of Fazolies”

  3. Really enjoyed the podcast. Real life photography opportunities surround me and are an excellent way to practise. Thanks!

  4. Great show. I especially appreciate your honesty, Katrina, about the difficultly you have letting go of the physical stuff of memories. I am cleaning out and welcome ideas, and just simple support, for the challenge this brings. Kelly will be a great counterpoint. Sometimes a trash can is the best solution. It should not be a source of guilt. Looking forward to more shows.

I haven’t even finished the first show… but had to come and comment – I LOVE IT! Everyday photography is about all I do – it’s the reason I bought a DSLR, and took some of Katrina’s classes. The love for capturing the everyday came first, and I’m slowly learning the technical side of things in order to do that better. As I was listening, I was in the kitchen making zucchini bread and my 3 year old walked in and wanted to help. Just as you were talking about finding a different perspective and shooting from above I was watching my daughter standing on a chair stirring the mixture and I was inspired to grab the camera and shoot her from above. A great shot I would not otherwise have thought to get! I think that’s my biggest problem, just even thinking about shooting when I’m in the middle of doing something like that. Thanks for the nudge! I’m so excited you’re doing this podcast and I can’t wait to hear more!

    • Lynette, your comment absolutely puts a smile on my face! So glad you enjoyed it and LOVE that you were able to immediately put it into action!

Excited to continue to give you creative nudges!

  6. Love love love all the great information, ideas and reminders to take your every day photography further! Thank you!

    Kelly and Katrina,

I just finished listening to your podcast. It was delightful. Thank you so much! I am really looking forward to future posts. I would love to hear more about Lightroom and PSE!

  8. LOVE the show! Still listening, but wanted to comment… so excited you’ve started this and can’t wait to hear more! I’m with you on getting stuck in my comfort zone with wide apertures and have to push myself to get more of the big picture in focus. Just recently blogged that I went “wide” with f/5.6 : ) I’ll get to f/16 soon! Thanks for the extra reminder and push!! PS. That photo of your grandma that you used with a current photo is making me swoon! Totally want to try something similar with my grandma and/or her house before alzheimer’s and dementia totally take over. Thanks for the inspiration and kudos on a fabulous first show!

    • Kelly Buss

Connie, thanks for the comment about my grandmother. She doesn’t officially have dementia, but her short-term memory is gone. Every time I look at that picture I nearly cry…

And yes…. you must push yourself to try different settings. We all have different comfort zones, don’t we? Going all the way to f/16 will make you really evaluate what is in the frame!

  9. What a great first show! Congrats you two! Somewhere down the line, I’d love you to touch upon documentation of your everyday photos. I can’t remember when/where, but I think it was in one of your webinars that you talked about documenting the photos in LR. I’d love to hear more about that… do you document all pics, just favorites, first person, third person…etc.

    • Kelly Buss

Thanks Deb! And thanks for the suggestions for future topics.

Here is a photo project one of my friends came across. It’s pretty neat- a kind of twist on Dear Photograph

    • Kelly Buss

Wow… what an amazing idea! The pictures are quite moving to me, especially since we have just been helping my grandparents transition to assisted living.

  11. Excellent! I can’t wait to listen.

  12. Awesome Katrina!

  13. Congrats! How exciting!!! Are you on iTunes?
