Ali Edwards’ Week In The LifePosted by Katrina Kennedy on Sep 8, 2013 in Blog, Personal, Photography, Scrapbook, Week In The Life | 8 comments
Ali Edwards’ Week In The Life is a seven-day documentary project. It’s a great opportunity to gather the details of your day, add words, and put them into a book form.
Ali has great planning information for you to use to make it a bit easier.
I love looking back on my two books and getting a play by play of the days. There are small details that I’m so glad I’ve recorded. In 2012 I included one photo of my husband’s aunt visiting for dinner. It was a quick trip that without Week In The Life I wouldn’t have taken the time to record. Less than a year later, she very unexpectedly passed away. Her photo in my book is one I treasure even more now.
In 2008 I used a bit more complicated process, scrapbooking each page and printing at Shutterfly. It’s a family favorite book.
You can here more about the Week In The Life process in my CY365 Podcast with special guest Ali Edwards.
This year I plan on carrying my dSRL all week, capturing details throughout the day. I’ve also decided to photograph the reality of living through our kitchen remodel, so be prepared to see photos of a VERY messy home. There are literally kitchen items in every room of the house (including the bathroom). This week will be VERY real.
This week’s daily prompts include an added list of ideas for capturing your week in the life. Get the free daily prompts here.
I’ll be using Ali’s templates to bring my photos and words together each evening with a plan of sharing here during this week.
My battery is charging and I’ve cleared space on my cards.
