Katrina  has taken a picture a day since February 2008, missing a photo on only one day. She still suspects that photo was misplaced somewhere! You can see her 2013 project here.

Katrina is mom to 10 year old Ian and wife to Shea. She loves digging in the dirt and spending time on her yoga mat. Although she’s been spending more time in dirt than on her mat lately.

Katrina also owns Katrina Kennedy Training, where she provides training for trainers. All in all, she likes to help people do what they do!

  1. Hello! So
You have a schedule or more information on any 2018 classes you may be teaching?

  2. Melanie

Hi. I just stumbled upon your podcast, and was a little disappointed that there is nothing done recently on there…do I find your recent podcasts somewhere else? Thanks.

  3. Hi Katrina! I have a question about the prompts that I was hoping you could help me with. I’ve noticed on a few days, for example, when the prompt was “DRAW” – that is the only word that I have on my list. But when I see other peoples’ posts, they have more prompts: “DRAW / LINES” etc. And for yesterday, when the prompt was “SIDELIGHT” – that was the only word I had for that prompt but when others posted their photos they had “SIDELIGHT / FULL FRAME / DELICATE” – am I missing some prompt words? Where did they get the other prompt words (Full frame and delicate?)

  4. I needed a jumpstart on day 2 of my 365 project. lol. Hilarious! Anyway I am glad I found your website. I now feel like I have a well to draw from!

  5. I am so excited to begin the challenge! I just wanted to let you know that I shared it on my daily blog today. I made sure to link to your page. I am inspired by you and hope that I can make it work for me this year!! Happy New Year!

Hi Katrina! I need your help. A while ago, I don’t know if it was last year or the year prior you posted a summer list of I think it was how many different drinks you had over the summer or something like that…can you tell me where to find that post? Do you know what I’m talking about?

Love your blog, ideas, tips, everything about you! So glad I found your website!!! 🙂

  8. Hi Katrina,

I just started my account a few days ago. I’m still learning how to get around on the site. Any place in particular where I should start as a guide? I’m very happy to be starting. I tried to upload an image (several times) from my android phone and it kept coming up error and that I had no more space left. I haven’t been able to upload any images yet. I haven’t used my camera yet but where can I find the specifications on image size? Thanks!

Is it better to start a 365 project in January or can you start anywhere in the year? I recently came acrossed your blog and I’m interested in doing this. I’ve signed up for your free prompts and been using them for sporadic photo shots

    • You can start on any day at any point that works for you! There are many people who have started on their birthdays, anniversaries, the first day of the month, or just today because it sounded like a great day to begin!

      Welcome to CY365!

    Hi Katrina,
I was wondering if you will be offering any beginning photography classes. I got a camera for Christmas and would like to know how to use it better. Also I’m interested in doing photography and I need a place to start. Thank you!!

  11. I love your website and am currently signed up to receive your cy365 prompts. I just wanted to say that as I am currently doing a 365 project your website has been so helpful and inspiring.

Your site was featured on my blog tonight:

    Thanks for everything 🙂

  12. Hi Katrina . . .
Just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration. I began my 365 on january 31st, my birthday. Your daily message to my inbox serves as both a reminder and inspiration.

  13. Hi Katrina. I was checking out Anna Aspnes blog the other day and noticed your header “Inspired 2013 a 12 month photo adventure” and was intrigued with the font used for the words “inspired 2013” She has referred me to you to find out if this font is downloadable anywhere? I do scraps for myself, not commercially. Thanks Kay.

    Hi Katrina!!!

I’m excited to see this site and join! I am looking forward to doing my first Capture Your 365. I love seeing familiar faces on your team of some of the ladies I took classes with. Very fun!

I was wondering if one day you could put together a class on external flash photography. lol! I know you touched briefly on it in your exposure class. I own one now and had to use it for a wedding and I had no idea what I was doing. Thank goodness for shooting in RAW and Lightroom. 😉

Do you list what’s in your camera bag on this site? I need a new lense similar to my 18-55mm kit lense but better obviously!

Thank you and I am looking forward to the new year!

  15. Merry Xmas to you and your family. I wish you a great year 2013. Thank you for the daily pictures. I really appreciate it.

  16. this is awesome!!! I’m soooo happy I found this! I did the project last year and was proud for finishing but not really proud of the pictures I took. So I’m doing the project again for next year!!! Thanks for the inspiration!! Its preparing me for next year!!!!! 😀

I would love to become a member, but I cannot get past the part where you enter the words. I just tried 20 times and it said every single one was wrong, even though I typed exactly what was in the box. I’d love any suggestions.

    • Hi Nicci,
I’ve disabled Captcha on the forum so you can now sign in without having to figure it out. As long as we aren’t overwhelmed with spam I’ll keep it that way. My apologies for the frustration. We’d love to see you in the gallery/forum!

Hi Katrina, Just to say thank you for such beautifully narrated and easy to understand videos. I have just recently purchased the low Light tutorial from TrueScrap but was wondering if there is any transcript/notes that accompany the video as I am a bit of a paper girl and need to see the instructions in writing. Is a copy of the video available for download because to practice photography one cannot sit in front of a computer all the time. Please help if you can.

    • Thanks Jenny for purchasing the TrueScrap video. You are absolutely right about needing to get away from the computer to practice. TrueScrap videos aren’t available for download, but let me send you a little something that might help you out.

Just stumbled upon your website. Love! I’ve been reading through your blog, the website and just realized you offer classes. Exciting and thinking to register!!! What camera do you use? Will you talk about different lenses? I only have a the kit lens and a fixed lens – will that do?

    • That will totally do!

I use three different Canons, but have worked with Nikon friends to be able to cover all brands as much as possible 😉 And, I’m not afraid to look in your manual!! I take a practical, take better photos without breaking the bank approach. So glad you found us!

  21. I absolutely love the lists for Project 365 and am looking forward to jumping into it this year. I’ve found all of your ideas with the exception of one for January … is there one? Thank you!

  22. Katrina! I love your wordpress design. Can you share who did your wordpress for you. I’m looking for someone to change mine over to wordpress? Thanks much! Sue
