Upgrading Lightroom 3 Presets for Lightroom 4

Thank you for sharing your workflow Katrina, I enjoyed the overview on the presets, I always forget to use them so it was good to be reminded of all they can do. Looking forward to the next one.
Once you import the presets into LR, can you delete them from the location where you downloaded them?
Thanks so much, Katrina! I am really really enjoying these LR tutorials!
So glad you like the tutorials Jenni.
Great question. The presets are imported into Lightroom’s Preset folder. So after import you can safely delete them from your download location.
Perfect! Thanks!
Thanks so much for the preset info and links. I use presets quite a bit in LR3, and watching Matt Kloskowski’s video on upgrading presets was very helpful. I haven’t upgraded yet, but I plan to soon. It’s nice to know I don’t have to be frustrated when things don’t look as I would have expected them to.
You are welcome.
I think you’ll be really happy with the upgrade. I’m loving the extra, more fine tuned adjustments.
Thanks for the update on presets for Lightroom 4. I didn’t have these. What do you think of the free collection offered by OnOne Software? It is updated for Lightroom 4. http://www.ononesoftware.com/products/perfect-presets-lightroom/
Linda, I love the OnOne Software updates. Thanks for linking them for everyone else.
Katrina…..thanks for doing this! Do you know if there is anything out there for Aperture? I don’t have Lightroom but love Actions in Photoshop. Would love to find presets for Aperture other than the ones they provide….will look into this!
I don’t know Kasandra. I’m curious now too!
Is it possible to get this series of Lightroom info in PDF? I learn easier that way. Thanks.
Hi Janet,
They’re not available in PDF’s, but that’s a great idea! Thanks for stopping by.
