Be Inspired | Weekend Reading

Inspiration.
There are so many places to be inspired. Sometimes it can be overwhelming. I like to narrow my view. Focus on an idea, a concept, or one particular technique. Search that out. View images of it being used. Learn from what others have done.
Sometimes I head to flickr. Sometimes I just plug an idea or concept into google to see what I find. Granted, that can be dangerous!
Here are a few of my favorite finds from the week. I hope they inspire you!

27 Effective Photographic Uses of Symmetry | Light Stalking

I really enjoyed the post about creativity. I know that from my quilting experience, you have to know the rules in order to break them, but it takes awhile to get to where the “rules” are natural and you don’t even think about them any longer. I suspect that many people never get past the rules part of photography and break through to the other side. After 100 days of daily photography, I feel like I’m seeing the occasional glimmer of “getting” it.
I’m also fascinated by photographers who can take pictures of such mundane things: train tracks or escalators or forks(!) and turn them in to such works of art.
Katrina,
I love this photo. I love the rosy background hue and the light gradient (right terminology?). The contrast and lines are perfectly set against the backdrop.
Looking forward to day 100!
Thanks Deirdre.
Thanks Katrina!!
I especially liked the long exposures one. Those were some really cool pictures.
Hope you have a great weekend!
I loved those symmetry photos! Very inspirational. I would love to try a long exposure shot like in those examples. Thanks for the inspiration.
Mr. Andi works in the electric utility industry so a transformer on a pole IS inspiring to him.
LOL. He’d be happy to know that I often photograph it when I need a quick subject and I LOVE watching the sky and seasons change around it!
