September Project 365 Idea List
Posted by Katrina Kennedy on Aug 31, 2011 in 365, Blog, Idea List | 36 commentsAre you looking for ideas for your 365 Project? Have you considered a photo a day project, but are a bit hesitant about getting started?
September’s inspiration list is a great way to get started or keep going! Use it as inspiration on days you are stuck or take it on as a challenge for each day! We are here to support you!
In fact, tell me how you plan on using this month’s list and I’ll enter you in a contest for a chance to win a pass to your choice of either Your Life: Captured Through The Lens OR Spawn Of True Scrap. Let me know in the comments which you prefer. I”ll close the contest on Sunday, September 4th.

Oh, how I need this. I am one month away completing one full year of Project (unofficially). I did a three month trial from October through New Year’s Day to see if I could do it.
I am in such a slump. Nothing looks photo worthy to me. UGH. So I am hoping the list will give me the kick I need to get back on track.
I’d love Spawn as I have maxed out on the other classes. :0)
I plan on using these prompts to take at least 1 photo a day. I’ve been slacking the last few weeks and need another little boost!
I have already taken YLTTL, but the Scrap class sounds like so much fun!
Thanks Katrina!
Oh, boy. I use these lists as motivation to just keep pressing the shutter. Sometimes life gets busy, or seems repetitive… These lists are a nice way to step back and see things afresh.
I’ve even got a local photog friend taking the challenges with me!
As far as which class, I’d be completely thrilled with either. Um. True Scrap? Yeah. I’d love that.
Oh boy, do I ever need inspiration again. Geez! I gonna try, try and try to follow this list to the letter. I would love to take the
Spawn since I’ve taken your other class.
This is my Challenge to myself. To document each day regardless how bust I get I will take a minute and do this for me so when the end of September comes about I will have at least 30 pictures that represented September to me
I love using your monthly inspiration. Each month I go over the list and see if anything creative pops out at me so I can plan if I need to. Otherwise, I keep the daily prompt in the back of my head as the day goes by and use it if needed. I find that using them randomly or putting my own spin on them works best for me.
(I’ve already taken your class but the Scrap of Spawn sounds wonderful.) Thanks!
I put them on my iCal at the beginning of the month and so I see each word first thing when I open it. Then if I feel inspired by it, I grad my camera if not… I just ignore it! I would love to win an spot in Spawn!!!
I plan on making a small and simple scrapbook of photos. Thinking of using all iphone pics… maybe
thanks!
Last month I used the prompts when there was nothing particular going on that day, and it made for a wonderful set of “favorites” pictures. This month I will probably do the same! I would pick the Scrap class
Thanks for these lists, they are great!
I loved spending time photographing my favorites in August, so I’m printing out the list this month as well – even though I have plans to take a somewhat different approach this month – searching for new things to learn each day (and snapping a photo of it, somehow), but I’d love to turn to your list for inspiration.
Can you believe I haven taken your YLTTL class before?!
But come 13th I’m there with you. Looking forward to that! (Spawn seems like a fun thing as well!)
I intend to use this list to inspire me to take more creative photos. (I get stuck on photographing my dog and cats. Okay, and my food.) I’d love to win a spot in your YLTTL class. I tried to take it earlier, but I got frustrated with my point-and-shoot camera. Now I have a Nikon D3100! =)
I have been (and will continue to) use your prompts as inspiration when I hit that wall of thinking I don’t have anything to take a picture of. I’ve been pretty good this year, and while at times it seems tedious, I know this is a project I will also treasure.
My Mom passed away earlier this year unexpextedly, and prior to that I had snapped a few random pics of her for my POTD. While she wasn’t exactly thrilled at the time (she didn’t particularly like her pic being taken) I am so thankful to have those pictures now.
If I won, I would like the photography class, as I am still trying to get used to my DSLR.
I would LOVE winning Your Life: Captured Through The Lens. This month I plan to actually use the list! :-/ I am going to take each prompt on the day it’s given and try to be creative in my interpretation of the word.
Spawn of True Scrap sounds like so much fun! I wish I had taken the first one. Thanks for the chance and as always the inspiration.
I am going to start today with my kids as part of our learning. Each of us will take the challenge and put the photos together in a booklet for the year. I did this myself with blog 5 years ago and we had so much fun because seeking a photo a day caused us to want to find really cool things which made us take new adventures in our town and stumble upon places we’d never been or know about. It was so fun and I’m impressed where you’ve taken this idea with your blog and the community you have created. Kudos!
I’d take Life: Captured through the lens class
I’m planning on using this months 365 list to learn more about myself. Last month was awesome and made me really think about my true favorites and I’m loving taking time for me.
I plan to use the list when I need inspiration to keep my 365 going. Sometimes, the daily photo just “happens,” but mostly, I’m in need of an idea. This, combined with a pass to the True Scrap session will most certainly make this one of my last few months of Project365 fly by!
Today the kids went back to school so I plan on re-focusing (no pun intended) on taking “better” photos for Project 365. This list will be a great guide to keep it simple. I would LOVE a pass to True Scrap! Thanks for the chance to win one…
I take a lot of pictures but not on a daily basis. I think I’m going to finally try my hand at capturing something each day. This list will help fill in the gaps when I’m feeling less than inspired.
I use the list when I am out of ideas or do not have a photo for the day for project life. These lists always help me see the everyday thinigs around me that could be documented as proof that I was here. They also challenge me to find a way to “artistically” represent the challege prompt.
Your Life: Captured Through The Lens is what I really need to get me to using manual. I want to; it’s just too easy to use auto…
As well as for photo prompts the list is good for scrapbooking page prompts too. Combine the two and you’re set for inspiration.
I would love to get back into taking a photo a day – this is just what I need for some inspiration. Would love to win a spot in True Scrap.
I am going to use this list in September to find new things to photograph. I tend to get in a rut and take pictures of the same things over and over. I would love to win the Your Life class!
I needed some ideas to get started on this project. I’d love to win the hmmmmm, okay, I’d love either one!
My Life Captured Thru the Lens. I love the thought of getting ideas to capture life from the lens. My great, great, great, grandfather did it with imported equipment and I am blessed to have pictures of his families life. I want my family to have the same.
I will use your September list to inspire me to keep my eyes open for specific things each day – almost like a treasure hunt to help me select what to zoom in on. I would love to win a spot in My Life Captured Thru the Lens.
I love you and your lists–and, I love Lain! Spawn of True Scrap would be awesome! I only wish I had attended the first one…
Just discovered your blog. Love this list – definitely going to try and get some more photos taken this month. Thanks for the chance to win – would love to be a partof My Life Captured Through the Lens
I am going to start using your list when I get stumped. It will be printed and kept on my fridge. I already have a few ideas for some of the prompts. Thanks for all the tips you provide on your blog. It has helped more than you know. I would love to be a part of True Scrap since I have taken the other class.
Hope appropriate I “found” CY365 (from Katie Nelson who I “found” through The DigiShow) for the first time as you started this. I dove right in yesterday and scanned the list for September. A few seeped into my brain as I went through the day I looked for inspiration. Then… it happened… I saw something that made me think “this would make a funny FB post”. Then I realized the “story” would mean more as a picture. The inspiration from this list “white” came to mind and a picture was born… of 2 rolls of toilet paper stacked just right. The bottom is a fresh new roll. The top is only half it’s size. Why is this funny? Because the top roll was just opened that very day. My 4 year old is learning more about cleanliness than conservation right now. I’ve looked at the pictures & realize I have alot to learn. The pictures I take never come out as good as the image in my mind. I’d love Your Life: Captured Through the Lens Workshop, but since I just spent $200 at Get it Scrapped yesterday BEFORE seeing this class… I’ll have to wait if I don’t win
Thank you for all of hte inspiration and information!!!
Oh this is a fantastic list! I love how the photo prompts are so rooted in the details. I love to scrap details so this is an inspiring list to encourage me to take photos that really capture the story of the details! ♥ Thanks so much for the chance, by the way! I would be thrilled to win a spot to either, but especially the Your Life: Captured Through the Lens workshop.
I love the ideas for taking pictures 365 days of the year!
I like the list because the ideas cause my mind to ‘see’ various things around me to capture. On those days when my mind seems blank I can recall this list. Just today I used the list combining 2 days: http://kbasiseeit.posterous.com/241365-waxing-crescent-9211 I would prefer to be entered to win the photography class.
I’ll have to admit I’ve been a 365 list loser and I will also admit there has been a week or two I have skipped taking pictures for one reason or another. I’ve been really good lately though and keeping up but I’m starting a new job this week and won’t have as much time to go out and shoot.
This month I think I will print this list out and keep a copy in my purse so when I am out and about I can take a quick look to see if I can capture anything related and also keep a copy in my kitchen where I keep my mini studio (an Ott light and a white poster board) and see if I can setup some shots off the list if I run out of ideas or if I don’t get out that day.
oops sorry SPAWN please.
I’m so glad I found this! I have really been wanting to pick up my photography again but am having “photographer’s block” on what to practice on to improve my photography (I can only shoot my kids so much)
I am really interested in the Your Life class. Can’t wait to get started on this!
